Intolerance of gays is evil
I, too, have been raised in the LDS Church. While the church does not promote the practice of homosexuality, it does highly encourage tolerance of others. The label of "evil" will harm you far more than it will harm any homosexual seeking legal equality. To push away a certain group in the name of religion is evil.
