Obama hype is not hope

Liz McCoy's "My View" (Aug. 13) is an interesting indictment. It at once shows how much we, as a society, are aware and sick of much that is taking place in our country, yet shows how blind we are to the consequences of our potential choices.

This fellow she seems so enamored with — Barack Obama — is at best disingenuous. He is inexperienced and lacks understanding, manifests disrespect for the constitutional law of the land and would bring a host of carpetbaggers and charlatans to a presidential administration.

Because some of the lines in the hype sound good, this brings hope?

We are truly in a mess.
