Dixie State College looking for new mascot
College officials will hold an online nomination and voting process until Sept. 26 to select a replacement for the mascot since the 1950s.
Students, alumni, faculty and staff, fans and the public can weigh in.
College officials issued the challenge Monday. They didn't explain why they are trying to develop a new "positive" identity.
Previously, however, the University of Utah said Dixie College would have to find a new mascot and perhaps even a new college name before it can become affiliated with the university.
