PLAYER OF THE GAME
The BYU defensive lineman set up shop in Utah State's backfield, especially in the first half. He finished with six tackles and one sack.
PLAY OF THE GAME
Three minutes into the contest, BYU quarterback Max Hall connected with wide receiver Austin Collie, who turned down the sideline, stiff-arming USU defensive back Caleb Taylor along the way, for a 76-yard touchdown in the Cougar victory.
KEY CALL
After cutting BYU's lead to 34-14 midway through the fourth quarter, USU attempted an on-side kick. The Aggies recovered, but officials flagged USU for a penalty, forcing a re-kick. Utah State tried another on-side kick that bounced around before Harvey Unga recovered for the Cougars.
QUOTABLE
"To have it that spirited and heated with the margin the way it was right to the end, I think is a positive thing for why we play this game.
