This team never gives up. I think this is the 3rd come from behind victory of the playoffs this year. I was at the game and admit that I was thinking of leaving early, but I'm glad I didn't. This team is totally worth the price of admission.

It was such an exciting game! I love the stunned look on Wes Goldie's face because to me it represents all the doubters that the Grizzlies are surprising in these playoffs. Lots of selfless plays and great team chemistry during the second half of the game. And lots of great reads of Victoria's offense and just keeping the puck away from them. So much talent and so much heart. Great going Grizzlies!

It was a totally awesome effort by the Grizz when most teams would have packed it in and called it a night. The 3rd period was the best 20 minutes of hockey I have seen in the last ten years at any level and I was massively proud of the guys.

Heck of an effort and now lets poach those fish-boys!!!!

GO GRIZZ!!!!!

It was a great game!

I was also starting to think we didn't have a chance, but when we scored those two quick goals at the end of the second it changed my attitude about the game completly. I think it changed everybodys attitude. The fans came together and got some good chants going and I think things like that help a lot more then we think. I also agree that the thrid period was the most excited 20 minutes of hockey that I have watched in a long time. There is nothing like a good come-back game. Another thing I noticed about the fans last night is it was so loud in there and there were not that many people there. I have been to every game and there has been games with more people but not as much noise last night everybody was having a good time and I love that. What a great game I can not wait for tomorrow and Sunday, hopefully us fans can keep up on our part of the game by cheering and keep that great atmosphere in the arena. And hopefully in return the guys will keep playing great.

The crowd's excitement made it more fun for fans and hopefully for the team. I think fans rose to the challenge when they heard that Victoria doesn't find the E-Center an intimidating place to play. Special kudos to the guys behind the penalty box for their enthusiastic, yet clean, cheering efforts.
If you're undecided about coming to one or both of this weekend's home games, you definitely should! This is a wild and exciting (darn near heart-stopping) series. Let's go Grizzlies!

What a comeback! This team showed a lot of heart and they never gave up. Let's do it again on Saturday night and really put Victoria behind the eight ball!

Well, let's be fair. A good deal of the "cheering" was comprised of catcalls harassing Julien Ellis (the "you suck" chants were ironic considering he was a conference choice for goal in the ECHL All Star game this year). The same group was also engaging in some classless "USA" and "Canada sucks" chants (also ironic, since most of the Grizzlies are Canadian). However, I'm looking forward to the weekend games, when the larger crowds should drown out the tasteless "cheers".

And it was an amazing comeback. Grizzlies found opportunities and took advantage, Mole was brilliant the last half of the game, and Victoria seemed to get nervous and collapse in the third period. Is an ECHL championship actually possible here??? (hardly daring to hope....)

Bravo Steve for recognizing such lack in class. Jeering the opposing team is one thing but taking so far as to pit it as country VS country, is brutal. To go further on your point..."most" PRO hockey players that play on teams in US cities are not American nationals. You will find a large contingent of Canadian and European players on these pro hockey teams. Tune into the game in Victoria(if it gets that far) and you will not hear one anti american chant....Good luck to both teams Go S-KINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our son plays for the Grizzlies and enjoy the teams and the city very much. We visited your city and the people and mostly the players are great. You have the teams to go all the way. Thanks Steve for thinking of our great country which we live in and being in a small place like New Brunswick, Canada

It was a fantastic game and I was so glad to see the guys comeback and score those quick goals. Can't wait for Saturday's game!

Re Steve's comments..there are always a few rude people in the stands, tell me that NHL fans don't make fools of themselves saying tasteless things, yeah right.

I can only speak for myself but I stand during the Canadian anthem and I know most of the words to it as well. Most true hockey fans know that we wouldn't have this great game if it weren't for the Canadians. All the cheers I heard by us were GO GRIZZ and others like it.

Stop being a snob and enjoy the game eh?
Ty | 7:20 p.m. May 2, 2008
Side Note: Canadian born players on Utah Grizzlies roster - 15; USA born players on Utah Grizzlies roster - 6; One Japanese born player on Utah Grizzlies roster. Now that country VS country jeering sounds more out of place than ever!!

Go Kings Go! No - there is never anti American Cheers in our building; just razzing of the opposing goal tender. Oh well, go Kings!!

I hope the Gaudets (and the families of the other players) know how much we've enjoyed watching their boys play this year. I feel proud of how well they're doing and how hard they're working, like a bunch of younger brothers. I know the booster club members enjoyed meeting the Gaudets when they were here and it's been fun to see Burt's wife with their dogs and Kinasewich's stepsister sing the national anthems of both the US and Canada. We think Canada is great, especially for giving us great hockey players. And yes, we do have a team that can go all the way!! Go Grizzlies!

It was a great comeback for the Grizz....but....you play as badly as they did in the first 30 minutes, those kinds of comebacks are rare. I've never seen one until last night. Utah can't come out that listless again and expect to make those comebacks. For some reason, they can't seem to get things going at the E-Center the way the often do on the road.

I watched the game scores on echl.com

and when i saw the grizz down 5-1 in the 2 second period i cursed at the screen and turn the puter off. went back to check the score before i went to work and when i saw they came back to win i ran thru the house shouting OMG OMG OMG They Won Times 3.

Behind the Penalty Box | 4:11 p.m. May 3, 2008
As one of the boys behind the penalty box let me say all we are doing is trying to get under the skin of the opposing team members in the penalty box. It has to be disheartening sitting in there listening to us. I can tell we get under the majority of their skin but to their benefit there are the rare few that laugh at everything we say cause they know we are just trying to bug them. I applaud those with such good sportsmanship. (Mainly Ramsay from Fresno) Anyhow, expect to see us there every game. We fully support the Grizzleys and cant say bad things about Canada since thats where my favorite #91 Labelle is from!!!
