C'mon all you whiny jazz fans. Let's hear all the complaints, all the conspiracy theories, all the 'non-calls'. First time i've ever posted on a forum. I've never seen nor read so many crybabys before. It's just a game. So what that Utah has never won anything. and probably never will.

Refs 3 Jazz 2, get next time boys.

I would like to thank the officiating crew they will never let the Jazz win a close game.

The NBA is just the WWF with a bouncing ball.
But you've got to hand it to the Lakers (the refs did), they brilliantly exploited the referees' proclivity for calling a one-sided game for the big market team.
Watch the tape of the fourth quarter. It speaks for itself.

What is the need of having those muscles if you are not going to use it on defense ? Somebody fm coaching staff should ask this to C-booz..He looks like a telegram pole when defending somebody with the exception of fouling behind eventually leading to never ending 3 point plays.
Don't Blame the Refs | 1:22 a.m. May 15, 2008
Boozer palys anything like an All-Star then we would have won. I don't mind the fouls on the Jazz but how about when we drive to the hoop... at least call it on both sides.
Whiners | 1:23 a.m. May 15, 2008
I have never come across so many whiners in my life! Do you guys ever see when Utah fouls and the refs don't call it? It happens quite a bit. Boozer grabs Odom's jersey nearly everytime Odom goes to the hoop because Boozer can't keep up with him. Utah sets moving picks ad nauseum...in Game 4, Williams took about four steps before shooting the ball which ended up being the game winner, Boozer barrelled into Gasol even though Gasol had position and yet, Gasol was called for the foul. Kirilenko pops Odom in the jaw, leaving Lamar with a nasty cut below his chin, but Odom was called for the foul. There is no conspiracy here. The Jazz have only themselves to blame for being unable to take a lead in this ballgame.
J Linds | 1:28 a.m. May 15, 2008
I'm baffled that no writer has mentioned anything about how uneven the officiating was tonight, especially in the 4th quarter. The Lakers got every call in the most crucial moments. Any one of which may have changed the outcome of the game. Just to name a few in the 4th quarter alone... 1. Harpring was called for a foul on Walton with the shot clock winding down when Harpring didn't even touch him. 2. Harpring had position and Gasol ran over him and scored, but not a peep from the ref. 3. AK was called for a foul when vujacik just dribbled the ball off his leg. 3. AK was also called for a foul on an Odom dunk when he went by Odom but didn't touch him. 4. Gasol pushed off Memo right near the end to get the rebound and dunk it in and no call was made. 5. Boozer was hacked twice underneath and no call was made. Additionally, Kobe went to the free throw line for several ticky-tac fouls.
Is the NBA ever going to call games fairly? It is incredible that the NBA can't see have consistent fair officiating like every other professional sport.

4th qtr joke | 1:29 a.m. May 15, 2008
it was already in the books at the start of the 4th qtr. Thanks javie, washington, and delaney. it was so obvious what you guys were doing.
Note to LHM and Company | 1:36 a.m. May 15, 2008
Just as you brought in Hornacek to help AK and Stockton to help DW (rookie season), lets bring in Malone to help Boozer learn a thing or two about playing physical. And, although Boozer has much more muscle then I will ever will have, I think Malone could teach Boozer a thing or two in the gym. Boozer would really do himself well to continue to bulk up. Except for one game he has been outplayed by Odom hands down. Yes some of it is due to Boozer playing help side defense on Kobe, but come'on, Odom is driving past Boozer right and left on one-on-one sets.
Boozers Weak | 2:07 a.m. May 15, 2008
Defensively, we know that, and so does everybody else, but who else on the Jazz roster are you going to play? Collins? What I cannot understand is giving Kyle Korver so many minutes over C.J. MILES AND RONNIE BREWER!!!! WHATS UP WITH THAT? KORVER CAN'T PLAY DEFENSE!!!IT'S THE PLAYOFFS!!! ENOUGH KORVER ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Laker fan | 2:09 a.m. May 15, 2008
Lakers in 6!! it would have been in 5 if Kobe wasn't hurt last Sunday.
RE: Laker Fan | 3:30 a.m. May 15, 2008
Funny how you called for the comments about the refs before anyone else posted. Probably because even a blind Lakers fan could see the horrible one sided officiating in the 4th Quarter.
As J Linds noted there were multiple no calls and phantom fouls. I turned the game off after I saw Odom beat Boozer on a backdoor cut and even though Boozer was 2 steps behind him he still got called for a foul and Odom got the and-1. NBA officiating is a joke.

Not the referees this time. | 3:32 a.m. May 15, 2008
I saw most of the game last night, and I agree that the officiating was typical of the NBA, which means downright horrid. However, from what I saw, this had nothing to do with the Jazz losing. What did was a possession where the Lakers had 4 offensive rebounds. What did was a number of missed lay-ups — lay-ups, people! What did was the absolute lack of defense played by Boozer. What did was terrible shooting by anyone not named Williams or Okur. If the Jazz make about three more lay-ups, grab four more rebounds, and hit a couple more shots, they easily win the game, no matter what happens with the officials (who, by the way, missed some stuff that would have had me yelling at the TV if I were a Lakers fan).
What a shame! | 3:56 a.m. May 15, 2008
The Lakers were BEGGING to being beaten. Even with all the dubious calls this was a WINNABLE game. Maybe next time let's not try and run every play during crunch time through a guy in a shooting slump who either fumbles, travels or tries to muscle up a shot through four defenders in the paint. Still, the Jazz have all the talent right there, what they (with the exception of Williams) lack badly is killer instinct and heart. Just hope they develop it in the years to come.
Learn from the Past | 4:17 a.m. May 15, 2008
Why are we starting to rely on the 3pt shot instead of taking the Jerry Sloan proven theory of making the easier lay up? We need to EXECUTE! The 3pt shot is not the first choice in a tight game.
Sorry, but Boozer is relying on this outside shot way too much as a "power" forward. He may have a better outside shot than Karl Malone had at this point of his career but because Karl didn't have a jump shot early in his career, he was forced to play the power game of driving to the hole and spent lots of time living at the charity strike. Boozer gets intimidated easily and after his shot is blocked once, he gets allergic to lay ups and is afraid of contact. How many dunks and lay ups are we going to give Odom? Boozer needs to move his feet and stop settling for short cuts like grabbing and pushing his man in the back to get a rebound trying to cheat after his opponent beats him to the ball. Hey Booze, if you box out and put a body on Odom, he won't get those easy tip-ins after a Kobe miss.

That the Laker fan knows that the complaints are coming before anyone else posts. Obviously he knows how rigged this game was.
beat jazz off | 5:31 a.m. May 15, 2008
waaaaahh. i've been to NBA games 12 cities and I was at game4. Utah fans cry the most by far.
James | 6:35 a.m. May 15, 2008
The biggest thing that irked me the whole game were the numerous illegal defensive sets that were not called as LA at one point had all five players below the free-throw line while everyone but Boozer was above it. They also camp guys out in the paint who aren't guarding anyone. The NBA made a couple rules to get keep teams from overloading the paint like that when zones were allowed, but it seems these old-time refs (Javie can bite me, by the way) never call it.
L A Transplant | 6:40 a.m. May 15, 2008
You Jazz fans just can't take a loss. I have never heard so many whiners! Laker Fan is right, you whine too much. Someone has to win someone has to lose, the refs aren't perfect. The Lakers get bad calls too. You just didn't have it to win. Don't make excuses. I heard a die hard Jazz fan whining about the amount of days off between games for the home games and the away games claiming that has something to do with winning on the road. It cracked me up. The Lakers had the same time off, totally fair.
Lighten up Jazz fans.

Defense not Refs... | 6:43 a.m. May 15, 2008
Come on people! The jazz played horrible interior defense...especially in the 4th qtr. Boozer and AK missed a variety of layups down the stretch with the game tied as well. The refs did their share of home cookin, but free throws were pretty even.
Heck the jazz out rebounded the lakers pretty badly. when the lakers can spread the floor and simply play give n go to an open player, it sure makes it easy to get dunks. poor defensing positioning and rotation were the major infractions.
We let one slip away last night....kobe doesn't score in the 4th from the field, and we still lose. Not a good sign.

Boozer's play | 6:43 a.m. May 15, 2008
Boozer needs to strap on a pair and play like a man instead of allowing string bean Gasol to beat him on the boards. He has totally disappeared in the playoffs. Odom made him look like a pansy last night. Has the man no pride?
What a bunch of bull! | 6:46 a.m. May 15, 2008
Of course thats what you get when you play LA in LA.
NYC Jazz | 7:01 a.m. May 15, 2008
Korver has not hit any important shots, execpt some free throws, in the 4th qtr these entire playoffs. Try something new!!!
Purple and Gold | 7:02 a.m. May 15, 2008
Quite amazing that somehow the refs had no bearing on the outcome in the games in Utah BUT they somehow have power to give the Lakers wins in LA? Try something new Jazz fans - maybe, just maybe you got beat by a better team.
Obviously... | 7:03 a.m. May 15, 2008
The reason the Laker fans never complain about the officiating is because they are the ones who benefit from the discrepancy. It really isn't that tough to figure out...
Never | 7:03 a.m. May 15, 2008
I'm one who never blames the officiating, but I have to in this one. So many touch fouls on the Jazz and so many non-calls on the Lakers. It was amazing. Games like this one make me want to boycott the NBA. That wasn't basketball. That was like fake pro wrestling.
Harpring | 7:05 a.m. May 15, 2008
Why don't he just put on a Laker uniform? He does more good for LA than Utah. That guy has to be the most unintelligent basketball player ever. He doesn't nothing to help the Jazz, but a whole lot to hurt them.
please repond | 7:08 a.m. May 15, 2008
Was it just me? Anyone notice that officiating was actually very even for the first half of the game, infact, it lookked like to me, there were some calls that were questinable in Jazz favor. But when it actually counted (4th quarter) the offficiating was horrible. It's almost like the refs new they were going to be calling the one sided fouls at the end of the game, making up for it at the beginng of the game. Gotta say, the refs sure made the game close, assuring that the Jazz never took the lead.
Truth is, as long as Boston is still in the finals, the Jazz never had a chance.

So tired of the cry-babies | 7:09 a.m. May 15, 2008
"refs 3 Jazz 2"....."he knows how rigged this game was"....."Even with the dubious calls this game was winnable"....."no writer has mentioned how uneven the officiating was tonight"
So if the Jazz win it's legit-no one even questions the officiating. Like in GM4 when the Jazz had 6 fewer fouls than the Lakers did Jazz fans complain or think it was rigged? No, I'm sure you didn't. I'm sure GM4 was totally legit to you and the Laker calls were all fair and I'm sure you felt the Jazz calls were legit. No one complained. Didn't even hear many complaints after GM3 when the Jazz won but had more foul calls. It's all good when you win right?
It's just funny that when any other team wins it's rigged but when the Jazz win it's fair. Why do you even watch basketball if you think that's how it is? I'm so tired of hearing about how much the refs have it in for the Jazz...Most of the Jazz fans here have such a small-market complex. If the league wanted the Lakers to win so badly why haven't the Lakers been in the finals for the last 5 years?

hold on everyone we have a proffesional on our hands here. I really appreciated your insight on how you are such a pro at this having been to nba games (wow that is big) and 12 cities to boot (again wow) my hats off to you. please give us more insight on your insight.
Stop the crying | 7:14 a.m. May 15, 2008
And please stop referring to the Jazz and yourselves as "we" - what are you coming off the bench for the Jazzies? No, you are sitting in your lazyboy eating cheetoes and telling us how you've been a Jazz fan since the Salt Palace days then contemplating law suits against the NBA for supposedly having refs fix games against the Jazz. We means you are on the team which you are not - stop it you are embarrassing yourselfs. And try another line other than - "If it wasn't for the refs..."
Blind Fans | 7:15 a.m. May 15, 2008
So tired of all the complaining. The basic premise of the argument that you Jazz fans are making is that the League wants LA to win so they help them do it at the FT line right?
The proof? Sure you can find proof-you watch the game and you see a no-call or a bad call and instantly that is proof-unequivical proof that the league is out to get the Jazz. You all sit there and wait for it. The second a bad call/no call happens you're blogging away about how terrible it is.
Meanwhile, the other team is watching the refs too. Once a bad-call/no-call happens they think the refs must have it in for them too. In fact, they watch for it all game. When it happens-BOOM! There's your proof right?
Guess what? Refs make bad calls all the time-it happens. Doesn't mean it's rigged. You really think that after the recent reffing scandal the league hasn't heightened accountability? You think they want another scandal? Next game-take a pen and mark down bad/no-calls on both sides and see how it totals at the end of the game. I think you'll be surprised at how even it is.

Sounds like YOU'RE the real whiner!!!
The unbelievable Boozer | 7:19 a.m. May 15, 2008
I do not understand how Boozer can play such horrbiel defense. Granted Odom is faster and taller, but stop swiping at the ball and get in front of him. If I was Boozer I would really step it up on the defensive side to gain confidence in my shot. The guy has lost all of his confidence in his shot. When great players struggle offensively they step it up a notch on the defensive end. He is playing like he doesn't care!
Angel, Macedonia | 7:21 a.m. May 15, 2008
I think that we cannot put all the blame at the refs, yes they didn't whistle 'few' fouls, but c'mon guys, we've had four opportunities to take the lead at 73 - 73 I think, the score was, then except D-Will and AK47, I cannot be satisfied with the other three starters: Okur, he allow too many offensive rebounds, Boozer, everytime he was double played, he was making a turnover, Brewer, yes, I am OK with his hustle, but he miss way too many jump shoots, Bryant was leaving him alone on purpose. We've had opportunities for winning and at the end, we cannot blame the refs, especially not this game, the advantage what they gave to them was normal for home-court team. Lets hope we will get the game 7 and we can correct all the errors from the previous 3 games at LA.

***Warning: Believing this will turn you into a Jazz fan...be advised.
Back in August of 07, Commissioner Stern met with a select group of owners and GMs and discussed how the season was going to be played. He announced that once Garnett went to Boston it was time to make them a contender again. He also announced that the only way to really make the fans forget the recent scandals that they needed to remember the glory days of the NBA. So, he put everyone on notice that the Lakers were going to be passed to the finals to play the Celtics.
The other owners and GMs were upset at first but then understood that it was for the greater good of the NBA. And so today, the Refs are given carte blanc for calling fouls in favor of the Lakers whenever it looked like they might lose.
This new policy resulted in the Lakers sweeping an inferior team and going up 3-2 against a tougher team. The conference finals have to be tougher to make the Lakers look hardened for the challenge so it will go 7 games.
Once the two teams meet-refs will no longer interfere.

Corruption Corruption Corruption... The NBA is fixed. Any questions I previously had of that were answered in the 4th quarter last night.
Not a Whiner | 7:26 a.m. May 15, 2008
I ref myself and I hate to watch a Laker's game. All year long the refs have been "Babying" the Lakers. I don't care who you are, when it is all said and done the NBA wants a Kobe vs James or a Laker vs Celtic final. Then they can toot their horns about the old days or the kings of the court squaring off. Who wants to see the San Antonio Spurs, Jazz, Orlando or any other "mid-major" team as the NBA should put it. Hey all you Laker fans don't ever say that all those stars don't help who is on the team. Besides Laker fans are the worst whiners ever. I have sat by many and all they do is complain. They whined about Karl and now they will whine about anyone who plays gritty, hard nose basketball. The old saying "My court my call" should go well with the Lakers.
Truthspitter | 7:28 a.m. May 15, 2008
Give me a break Jazzfan. Gasol was being fouled two and three times on every possession, the refs were letting your team get away with murder defensively, especially Matt Flopping.
Not to mention they call a foul in your favor every time Deron Williams launches himself into someone in the paint.
Calm down Jazzfan, it will all be over soon. Lakers close you out in 6 on your home floor.

One-Pony Show | 7:28 a.m. May 15, 2008
This is simply the result of Utah being a one-pony show. Most other states/markets have multiple professional or collegiate sports teams to divide their attention.
Utah is limited to the Jazz, BYU and UofU. There are of course a few other teams with a bunch of zzzzz's in the name but those teams are boring so no one cares.
Every other state with multiple teams accepts that reffing has good/bad days. Even in big markets this happens. But Jazz fans won't accept that. They know that if their team loses they don't have anything else to watch for several months so it causes them to ignore bad calls against opposing teams and obsess about FT calls - even when their team leads the league.
Oh well. At least the Jazz fan complaining will be over in a couple days.

Jazz fans have a right to be upset with the refs--also the league. How many remember 1989? After that year, I have have watched much less professional basketball--might as well watch the WWF. The league doesn't want small-market teams in the finals.
GO JAZZ!!!!! | 7:31 a.m. May 15, 2008

How many times does boozer go in for two hand dunks and not get a call. His hands on the ball are much too big for the lakers to get all ball every time. Any other series, Jazz would have swept all 5 games.
Jazz are not looking for more fouls, just call it the same on both sides of the court. When does DWill count as a superstar. He goes down the lane, looks like a pinball, and know call. Nobodys even near odom on a dunk and its and one. Joke of a league.

We still have a big chance here fans. Win the next one at home and we will give it another try in the land of fruit and nuts. I pray that we can develop Fess for the future and tweak the roster to get another big that can defend and rebound in the paint. We are close, very close to having the players to contend and win it all for several years. Just be patient fans the stripes won't be able to take it from us in the next few years.

were whining about the refs in game three and four. They will whine about the refs when the Jazz win game six.
The officiating in the NBA is a joke. It isn't the sole reason the Jazz lost last night. Boozer is a joke down low.
The series aint over yet, and I hope the Jazz come back with some fire in the last two games. Faker fans aren't so good about predicting the series...they said the Jazz would be swept, they weren't. They said they would win in five, it didn't happen. Now they say six, yeah right.

Buckey Fan | 7:34 a.m. May 15, 2008
Didn't watch the whole game last night so I couldn't tell how the officiating was, but its the playoffs and the home team should get the calls. This happens in Salt Lake also, remember the Stockton/Malone years? I did see the last minute of game 4 and game 5. Game 4, Boozer was just standing around on the out of bounds play and, with no effort, let Odom put back the MISSED shot to tie the game. Game 5, with 1 minute left, Booze just let Odom drive to the basket, once again just standing there. Your team is in the semi-finals of the conference championship. You're playing the 'swing' game of the series on the opponents home court. Your team is tied or down '1' point with a minute to play. This is the game you can steal. Why wouldn't these 'young fellas' get pumped up enough to play aggressive defense for 'ONE' stinking minute. No, Boozer is flat footed, Okur was playing soft in the middle...it goes on. The Jazz could have had the series last night. For the Jazz to be in this situation, with one minute left...don't blame the refs.
NYC | 7:35 a.m. May 15, 2008
This game could have easily gone to the Jazz. They had their chances and should take heart that they could compete and win in LA. Each team reflects their coach, which is a compliment to the Jazz. Sloan gets his guys to play hard, work as a team. Jackson whines about every call and comes up with numberless excuses without giving any other team credit. I think Boozer's back is hurt more than we know and Memo's heel isn't helping. Unfortunately, all we hear from the talking heads is Kobe's back. (NBA #1 Drama Queen) If refs call the same fouls both ways, Jazz pull out a win. Refs might have had money on the game, I noticed Vegas odds had Laker's by 8. Ever since the Mavs/Heat "Dwyane Wade Free Throw Contest" Finals, the NBA has been frustrating to watch. (By the way, Jazz fans have a legit arguement to be mad at refs. History tells the story. Coming from an East Coast guy.)
Jazz fans are just sad | 7:36 a.m. May 15, 2008
I don't mean sad as in pathetic...although that applies too after all the whining I've seen lately.
I mean:
-Sad that they haven't won a championship
-Sad that Malone couldn't close the games against the Bulls
-Sad that Stockton and Malone couldn't play longer
-Sad that Malone left Utah for LA when he thought he could win there.
-Sad that Boozer isn't as good as Malone
-Sad that DWill isn't as good as Stockton...or CP3
-Sad that it is so hard to get FA to come to Utah the home of limited diversity.
All of those things just make Jazz fans sad...which is why they complain...and whine...and blame others...
The funny thing is teh Jazz fans are the most critical of their own team. It's a tragic love-hate.
They rail on Boozer for not showing up but then blame the refs for putting him in foul trouble. Then he's their hero...then enemy...
AK47 is the same...hate him when he wants to leave...hate him when he doesn't play...but he gets a quadruple double and he's the best player in the league...poor game-"Trade Him"...Good game-"Play him more"...
The Jazz fans don't know what they want...and that just makes them sad.
I mean:
-Sad that they haven't won a championship
-Sad that Malone couldn't close the games against the Bulls
-Sad that Stockton and Malone couldn't play longer
-Sad that Malone left Utah for LA when he thought he could win there.

Is anyone else tired of the Jazz Fans blaming everyone they see?
In GM 1 and 2 it was:
Refs rigged the game
Boozer didn't show up...so "Trade him"
AK47 didn't show up so..."bench him"
GM 3 and 4
Refs off the hook cause the Jazz won
Boozer off the hook because he showed up..."keep him"
GM 5
Refs rigged the game
Boozer didn't box-out enough
It's just funny. You Jazz fans have no idea how pathetic you sound. Blaming everyone for everything. It's funny how you show your support.
Love Boozer, AK and Okur then hate them when they don't play well.
True fans don't do that. You call the Lakers fans bandwagon fairweather fans well guess what we suffered through years of losing...even to the Jazz...before winning again and you don't hear us asking to trade Kobe when he plays poorly or Fisher cause he misses some key shots or Sasha because he's 1-11 in GM5 and like 1-200 for the series. If you're a fan then dont' like the players only when they have great games.
Bunch of cry-babies.
