What contributed to David Cook winning ?

Have you heard about the DialIdol software (Website: DialIdol.com search it thru Google) - that is what they been using instead of the phone or wireless phone - It's hightech you cannot beat that with your fingers for 4 hours this can generate 500 votes for 2 hours that is 1000 votes per 4 hours without sweating at all. That is the reason why David Cook won. I would say that is part of it that he won just to be fair. I am done with American Idol - I only participated because of David Archuleta. But continue to support him thru his music career for me he is the winner.

I'm still shocked, My cousin had a huge Idol party at her house and I bet the world that Archuleta would win. We were all so certain of it. Cook's good, but not Archuleta good. I'm bummed & Idol's rigged.

to me David Archuleta deserves it more..David cook is nothing...there is too many rockers like him already..we need more DAvid Archuleta's in this world..he is the kind of people who understands the true meaning of music and to me his is absolutely amazing...no one will ever forget him i'm certain of it...David Cook is talented but his is no match for David Archuleta...to me David Archuleta is the winner!!no matter what happens...

I feel this young gentleman was robbed of what should have been his. Don't get me wrong the other David is good ,but this young kid is the only one never in the bottom 3. What is wrong with people. Didn't you hear Randy say he could give him the phone book and he could sing it. WE were very disappointed, I think someone got into the votes!!!!! American Idol has lost this house from watching next season. I thought enough was enough when Katherine lost to Taylor. People this is a singing competition! How do you know who used dialidol and who did not.Can you provide us a list of all of those in the U.S. who used this technology and confirm they all voted for Cook?

The anti-Cook sentiment in these comments is really over the top and should stop. He is the real deal--a genuine musician who does more than just sing and brings a unique twist to every song he performs. He NEVER flubbed the lyrics (David A. did that THREE TIMES), and was a consummate professional throughout. He will sell as many albums as Underwood and Clarkson. Had David A. won, we'd be seeing just as many "conspiracy" and "rigged" comments on Kansas City blogs as we are seeing here. Heck, that already happened among the Cook crowd after Simon's (very much unjustified) proclamations on Tuesday night. This is sour grapes at its worst. David A. was rightfully the frontrunner for a long time, but Cook's stock increasingly rose with memorable performance after memorable performance. The final vote wasn't even close, so quite your conspiracy griping, when it is COMPLETELY obvious that the other fan base would be saying the exact same thing had it gone the other way--perhaps with more justification because Simon's "proclamations" have always come true in the past.

Blaming Dial Idol is ridiculous as well. The point of that software is to get an idea of who is leading the vote by measuring busy signals. If it influences voting, it does so by showing who is getting more votes. The "power voting" itself from Dial Idol is beside the point. Also, David A. had the support of both Rickey.org and votefortheworst.com, two powerful (if they have very different agendas) internet voting bases. This sour graping is really distasteful and it shows disrespect to David A. himself, who showed nothing but grace and admiration for his opponent. Come on, had he won, it would have been deserved, but Simon was right--they were both incredible finalists. Stop acting like the Claymates. This is nothing like the wholly unjustified loss of Clay to Ruben. Not even close.

My heart goes to David A. Blessed is the woman who carried you while you were unborn. You did not win the competion but you have won the world at large. I'd be curious to see how the midwest and south and the rest of the Bible Belt voted.....I'd love to see if there's some anti-Mormon sentiment at play here (judging from the comments I've read ove rthe past few months, there certainly is among some David Cook fans in Utah).

I checked the online edition of the Kansas City Star this morning. Didn't see any anti-Mormon comments there.

How can you say that there was a conspiracy when David A lost the final by 12 MILLION votes? that is not close at all and nothing was rigged at all. Just face it that the majority of the votes went to David C. I think this show gets too much attention and it really isn't all that good. It is just another talent competition. There are hundreds that happen everyday. This one just has millions of dollars and that is all. Let's just admit the facts and say that although David C's voice was not as good as David A's, David C was the better all around. He had a better stage presance, able to do more genres. When you look at those 3 aspects David C wins 2 of the 3. There is no conspiracy at all, just the fact that David C is more of the complete package and that is why he won. More overall and complete talent.

I agree with the "stop bashing the winner" sentiment. Win or lose, David A. was HEARD! He will go places from his appearance on IDOL. He has what it takes and if he remembers his roots, he will be bigger than Garth Brooks! Best of luck to you David!

Both Davids were wonderful. I liked both of them better than any other winners or runners-up from other seasons. While I preferred David A, I understand the group that preferred David C. He was versatile, unique, creative and a really good singer. David A was the better singer, but he wasn't quite as versatile. His arrangements were creative but he didn't have as much overall creativity as David C. But, David C. is years older than David A. By the time David A. is as old as David C., he will be far more successful.

It doesn't matter who won. Remember Clay sold more CDs than Ruben and Daughtry sold far more CDs than Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, Fantasia and Ruben. It is far better to sell CDs than it is to win American Idol. I think David A. would have won in any other year.

The problem for both Davids will be to find songwriters as talented as they are. Their album sales will be limited only by the quality of the songs. There are not a whole lot of talented songwriters out there today. Although frowned upon, it may be best to do a covers album.

I was very disappointed that David A did not win.But david in the eye's of your fan's your are still a winner, you have a beatiful voice. On the other hand I feel that David C. handled his win very differant from other idol winners, just by inviting David A.and the others to join him while he sang after being announce the New American Idol. I thought David C. showed alot of class. And I hope his dreams come true.

iwas sooo shocked that David Cook won. I thought he would say that Just Kidding! David Arcuhleta is the American Idol! or like, they miscounted or something. That is just messed up that Cook won. I mean, when david sings you can feel emotion and you can hear it in his voice as well. For cook, he just pretty much has a raspy voice and it sounds like hes jsut saying words in notes. But even if David A. didnt win, all of us fans know who is truly more talented: David Archuleta. I am pretty sure that David Archuleta will be more successful in the music indusrty than David Cook. So take that, Cook-boy! People may say hes just a dumb little kid, but they dont know what theyre talking about. His best performance was "imagine" but I also like when he preformed Stand By Me. All David Cook really sings are fast rocking songs. He only goes to ballads like, once or twice. However, when David A. sand some fast songs, he rocked them! Also, David Archuleta is waaay more humble and nice than Cook. Whenever he is praised, he says thankyou. David Arcuhuleta is the best Idol!

David A's future is quite secure -- his heart comes through and there are millions of us who will await every opportunity we'll have to hear him.

I was shocked and disappointed that DC won! Honestly, nothing against him, but how can a voice like DA not win?? I didn't want to watch the telly after I'd seen the results on internet. Very disappointed. When is DA cd coming out? What is wrong with Americans ears?

I WAS DISAPOINTED DAVID A DID NOT WIN HE WAS GREAT. I THINK IT IS UNFAIR ON VOTING. I agree that the voting is a joke and it is unfair but I have heard of 2 Archuleta fans that voted 1000 times. Unless I am mistaken 1000 is more than 843 so your cry doesn't really work. I do think that it needs to be change to 2 or 3 votes per line. I would say 5 but for example each person in my house has a cell phone and we have 2 land lines so that would be 5 votes per person and I think that is too much. Cell phones are so common that I think it should be down to 2 or 3 votes per line. I think that if they changed the voting that Cook would still win. I think his experience singing in bars helped him to know how to connect more with fans and I truely believe that he had more fans. Archuleta needs more experience. I heard him and although his voice is better than Cook's and he had more emotion in his songs I connected so much more with Cook. Cook in my opinion was a better all around talent eventhough he wasn't a better singer.
