AAAKKKK!!! My daughter's WEDDING is Friday evening at 6:00. How am I supposed to CHOOSE? Decisions, decisions....

(**DISCLAIMER** I hope everyone who reads this realizes I'm being just a tad sarcastic. Never fear, I'll be at the wedding.)

I'm going to be there! David is the greatest! I love David! Not only that, he's LDS, so he has to be the best! American Idol is also the best! It represents everything that good Americans aspire to, fame, fortune, glory, money! I know, some people say it's all shallow, superficial, and shows how little culture America actually has. But it's our shallowness, our superficiality, and our lack of culture, so it has to be the greatest! Awesome!

He's worth more than a buck! If you want to earn money for charity, charge a reasonable price to make it worth everyone's time! You should at least charge 2.50 a ticket!!
David who? | 10:57 a.m. June 3, 2008

His performance was far superior !!!!!

I think David A. is the most talented singer I have heard on American Idol. I was shocked when he didn't win, but I'm sure great things will come to him. He has the voice of an angel.
Sydney | 11:27 a.m. June 3, 2008
You know, you're right. David Archuleta SHOULD come here to St. George. THAT would be AWESOME! And, with no doubt, he sings like an ANGEL! Avery cute angel.

I think David is the most gifted young man America has seen in many years. I am an older lady and could listen to this young man all day. He seems so pure and clean. I was praying that God will use him for His glory and not just to be a star in the music
world. I will buy any album he puts out and hope it's soon. In my book he was the winner. America needs more young men like David. Keep up the good work and prove that goodness is cool !

$1 a ticket?? that must have something to do with his contract with the show's producers; that's cheap! parking will cost more.

better sell out at that price!

(no, I won't be going)
Anonymous | 12:32 p.m. June 3, 2008
Yeah, the tickets are $1, but keep in mind that the Ticketmaster "fees" are, like, $10.
Bonnie | 12:35 p.m. June 3, 2008
David has the best singing voice I have heard in a long time. Hope he does some cd's, I'll be first in line to purchase them.

I'm a Grandma that thinks everything David A. is great. What a gift and what a great kid.
Maria | 12:36 p.m. June 3, 2008
David congratulations!, I am writting from ECuador -South America and I watched A Idol final through Cable, I was very dessapointed that you didnīt win but for me and people around here you are the winner and sure great things will come for you. Besides your incredible voice I can see beyond your eyes and smile that you are an angel. Please donīt loose your personality! Congratulation for the concert. God abundantly bless you
JC | 12:37 p.m. June 3, 2008
What a slap in the face to david and to the charities he is doing this for. $1 is pathetic. Personally(and I think many people agree with me) I would rather pay more for an event when I know it is going to charity. I went to a free concert and their were donation boxes for th Tsunami victims and just standing wathcing I say people drop $10, $20 and even $50 bills in the boxes because it was charity. The door price was nothing. There had better be boxes for donations everyewhere or this is a waste for the charity. I bet if they only get the fees to get in then the charities come away with less than 5000 bucks. Charge more liek 10 or 15 and more people will go.
CHEROKEE | 12:43 p.m. June 3, 2008
I THOUGHT HE SHOULD HAVE WON FROM THE BEGINNING. HE WAS MY NUMBER 1 VOTE. GOOD LUCK IN THE FUTURE DAVID A.
Thanks naysayers | 12:44 p.m. June 3, 2008
Those of you who don't want to go, please stay home and let the rest of us get a ticket. In the meantime, please keep your sarcasm to yourself. This is a great oppotunity for those who enjoy his music to have an opportunity to see him without breaking the bank.
Anonymous | 12:50 p.m. June 3, 2008
They must have left out a 0 or two in the ticket price! That won't even cover the clean up costs after the concert! Love David A...his voice is priceless and much better than the other contestants.
Lupe | 12:58 p.m. June 3, 2008
Wish you can come to Dallas. I'm an older fan..and boy do you have a beautiful voice for such a young person. In my opinion You will always be #1 winner in American Idol 2008, like the others American Idol second runners up are number #1 they are stars now! and so are you!!!
truth | 12:58 p.m. June 3, 2008
People with heart will love DA's singing, those without ... well any noise will do !

David, American Idol was shown in Finland 2 weeks later than in America. We've never seen American Idol, but heard about you from friends at home, so one night of watching you perform and we were hooked. So every Saturday after working in the temple in Helsinki we came home and unwound by thrilling at your performance. (Missionaries don't watch television, but our apartment has a tv so felt for one hour it was ok to support you!) Thank you for being such a great representative of the state of Utah, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, thank you for being humble, happy and may you always be that way! Thank you for some amazing performances! Yours was real singing! Good luck young man!

David, how about a visit to Johannesburg in sunny South Africa? We'll be delighted to have you. We have the most beautiful country, wonderful game and If you come and visit, life will be complete. In our minds you are the winner of Idols. I can hardly wait for your CD.
lh | 1:35 p.m. June 3, 2008
This is David's way of thanking those who have supported him. It also will benifit a charity close to his heart because of family friend who has M.S. If you want to pay more donate to Ms OR A Favorite charity. I wish I lived there so I could experience the spirituality that this young artist brings with each performance. God bless him and his family/friends for sharing. Fill the house and show joy and appreciation.
Disappointed | 1:40 p.m. June 3, 2008
Where I come from 2nd place is synonymous with loser, so no wonder they are only charging $1...yet, I will donate a buck to the charity because I'm feeling magnanimous.
Anonymous | 1:55 p.m. June 3, 2008
Hmmm...$ .99 breakfast burrito or $1 David Archuleta? I am kinda hungry. And I'll save a cent with the burrito.
Anonymous | 2:03 p.m. June 3, 2008
Problem with this even if they put donation boxes out Do you really think these 12-15 year old girls are going to put there money in a box or by a T-shirt HMMMMMMMM should have charged at least 15 or 20 with concert prices the way they are this would still be a steal.
Marilyn T. | 2:48 p.m. June 3, 2008
Dear Disappointed at 1:40: I feel sad about the place you are from. It sounds like a real gloomy place. 'Cause from where I was listening, I saw loads of talent, heart and spirit from all the finalists of the American Idol 2008. My personal choice was Archie, but saying that, I still recognized the talents of all of the other finalists. They are all winners. They had to be to get that far!! Best of luck to all of you.

Does anyone realize that nobody at the E Center will comment on this supposed concert? And the phone number listed is a fax line? Hmmm...
granny5 | 3:45 p.m. June 3, 2008
Is this a scam? I have been to the ticketmasters website and I don't see a listing for "Archie's" tickets. Am I missing something? Maybe I will call the E center and see if they know they are having a concert. Someone point me the way - I would love to go see David - but then again I may just get trampled by the young girls. I enjoy his singing, his shyness and think he got robbed on American Idol. He really should have won!
Anonymous | 4:12 p.m. June 3, 2008
Get a grip, he lost let's move on
marisol | 5:05 p.m. June 3, 2008
I am from the Philippines and I am very sad to read about people who give arrogant and rude comments. We who live in the third world country think of USA as the grren pasture we may never get to see. Give us a good example!!!!
Both Davids are talented and fond of each other. More power especially to Archie!!
David Cook | 5:25 p.m. June 3, 2008
Geeze, a buck to get in.

They better have a ton of change there to break all of the $20 bills coming through...
wb | 5:28 p.m. June 3, 2008
David A....was great on Idol and it seems his success even though he did not get the title is upsetting people. Go ahead David and celebrate your success with your hometown I myself think it is a great thing you are doing....You are truly the right example for your generation!!!! I hope the concert is a sell out!!!!
sadie | 5:46 p.m. June 3, 2008
Archuleta wasn't the winner on American Idol but he sure as heck is a winner to me. I am waiting for his first CD and while I am waiting, I am listening to his recordings that I have downloaded from itunes.
granny5 | 6:03 p.m. June 3, 2008
I knew it couldn't be true. Shame on American Idol for "pulling the plug." It was for a good cause and it would have benefited the people that weren't able to get tickets to the two performances that the tour will put on. Perhaps, after the tour, they could have a "holiday concert." I would pay much more than $1. I would love to see David A, up close and personal and not have to see all of the others in the tour. Maybe Kurt Bestor (sp) could have him in his annual holiday concert. David A will be a crowd pleaser wherever he performs. Lots of luck!
wb | 6:07 p.m. June 3, 2008
sorry the concert was cancelled but I am sure the fans will wait patiently.
Anonymous | 6:24 p.m. June 3, 2008
Ah, I thought something was up. Article now edited to read no Charity concert.

I was pretty sure the producers never, ever allow the contestants (top 10, anyhow) to perform at all, until they finish their American idol tours.
Elizabeth | 7:05 p.m. June 3, 2008
As a 65 year old grandmother of 14, I too feel that all is not lost even though David A. didn't win the
"title" of American Idol. He has such wonderful potential for success thanks to the American Idol Show that gave him the exposure he needed to display his marvelous talents. I believe that he truly will have a successful career as long as he stays true to himself, his values and standards, and always gives thanks and credit to the higher source who blessed him with all that he has and is.
I look forward to following his career and can hardly wait for the release of his first CD.
Re: Anonymous | 7:53 p.m. June 3, 2008
I don't know how, but a few years ago after Taylor Hicks won on AI, Stadium of Fire was able to secure him as a performer before the Idol Tour had started.
Gretzky | 8:44 p.m. June 3, 2008
and I told you so...David and David and company are bought and paid for months to come and even after that most likely...
Rich | 8:52 p.m. June 3, 2008
David needs an agent NOW! A good, professional agent would never let his client lower his value by doing a concert for only $1 a head. If you're going to raise money, Archie, charge a normal rate for concerts, and then donate the money to the charity of your choice. But remember that a singing career can be extremely short-lived, and you should try to make as much money as possible in the time you have. If you have a lot of money, you can do a lot of good in the world. But you can pick your charities, and if you want to donate, say, $18, to each of your fans, by all means put on a concert for $1.
