This is an awsome story, too bad it didn't warrant greater coverage. The men and women who serve our Nation in any branch are my personal heros. The fact that some of our oldest living Vetrans were celebrated should have been worthy of greater mention. These men and women are passing from our lives and we, as a whole, don't seem to care.

I am sad to say that I did not serve in the military because I think I missed the chance to pay a debt to my Country. I chose to work civilian law enforcement for 21 years instead. I stand in awe of anyone who wore this Nation's military uniforms. God bless your sacrifice for people like myself. I am in your debt.

I was blessed to be invited to Karl Smiths 4th of July celebration this year as I was one of the skydivers that was supposed to jump into the event...but...the wind had other plans! What an amazing man (and wife!) with the most impressive display of collected WWII vehicles I have EVER seen, honoring more impressive men and women from a time that most of us can not even imagine. God bless you Karl and those veterans that sacrificed SO much for our freedoms today.

I agree with Jon about the impressive collection and Karl's devotion to WWII history and preservation. Anyone who gets the chance to see it won't be disappointed. I also agree about his beautiful wife; can we get some pictures of Wendy in a Half-Track? Perhaps a WWII pin-up girl reprise of some sort.

In addition, here's a great big shout out to Jack whose collections and knowledge preserve all the details of era munitions along with every single correct nut and bolt.

I am also wondering how I can contact Karl Smith. I saw the Military Channel show Tank Overhaul on the Hellcat and would really like to see if I can come see the collection as part of my spring vacation. I couldn't find a mailing address online. Any ideas?
