Why would anyone want to holiday in a country that tortures, spies on it's citizens, collects fingerprints and retinal scans of visitors, and where people have guns? Thailand has much better food.

With all our faults...the US is still safer than almost ANY other country in the world to visit. And as someone who has guns...I'm very grateful that I have that privledge. People like Hitler, and other dictators have insisted that the general public be prohibited from having guns. That way they are easy to beat into submission.
I love my country. So "Hollywood", if you don't share that love, maybe you should educate yourself or move to Thailand. Hopefully you'll learn that we have things pretty darn good here.

Thailand does the same things to its visitors, and more. Have you ever been there? At least in the U.S. you won't get beaten to a bloody pulp with a bamboo cane for climbing a tree in a public park (happened to a high-school-aged American tourist in Thailand a few years ago).
But by all means, don't let facts stand in the way of your tirade.

Looks like we're being boycotted. Can't say I blame them, there are much nicer places to go. Regarding the tree climber, look up what happened to Canadian citizen Maher Arar who was just passing through the USA; this travesty alone would discourage many tourists. And I agree with Hollywood, Thai food is better.
