Disney has long felt that it is an entity own to itself, with NO accountability to anyone or any government other than Disney.
I might have said I was going to bring one in, in an interview than NOT brought it in, then sue the crap outta Disney for harassment, discrimination, etc. when I refused to allow them to search my vehicle. Even in Florida, even Disney has to abide by the law. He might lose this one.(unfortunately)

Why is he protesting a corporate policy in this manner? There are far more reasonable forums for objecting to this rule. It's illogical people like this that make Disney's policy seem logical. If I were a patron at a place with higher security concerns like Disney's resort, I would feel much safer knowing they had this rule.

What do you mean, "Why is he protesting a corporate policy in this manner"?
What? Having a gun in the trunk of his car for protection during his commute is an unreasonable way to protest?
Usually your type are very suportive of the people's right to protest in much more outragous ways than this. Is it just because the reason for his protest isn't one of your pet-causes that you can't comprehend it?
If he were protesting a coporate policy of sexual discrimination, or racial discrimination, or a coporate policy prohibiting employees to speak to the media (all of which companies such as Disney have been accused of in the past) would you then say, "They own the land, they make the rules", or "They make me feel safer"?
What is so "illogical" about his protest? I can think of some protests you liberals have supported that seem more outragious than this one...
- Violent protests against the President.
- Disrupting business with discriminitory policies.
- Throwing eggs and insults at people who's opinions you don't agree with.
- Accosting people for wearing fur, etc...
Would you consider these to be a "Logical" way to protest?

- You don't have 2nd ammendment rights?
- You loose your right to not be subjected to illegal searchs and seizures?
- You have to allow Disney security to search your car without any legal reason?
Hmmm.
