Minimum requirement | 12:51 a.m. Aug. 27, 2008
To be considered for any player's honor, shouldn't the players be able to lead the team to a certain number of wins? That ought to be a bare minimum. Great players are supposed to make everyone around them better. Maybe it's time to hold USU to that standard.
Offense vs. Defense | 7:19 a.m. Aug. 27, 2008
Sounds like a great standard, except for the fundamental differences between what the offense does and what the defense does. If a defense holds the other team's offense to 50 yards per game, and only a field goal or a touchdown, they would be doing their job extremely well, but they could still be on a losing team if the offense couldn't put together a scoring drive. When the award is supposed to recognize defensive talent, then winning record seems less relevant.

Lighten up, man! You sound too much like a Zoobie. We USU fans are a little different and don't let wins and losses on the football field become a life or death situation. Sit back and watch some good football in Romney stadium this year and quit the griping!

There have even been several Heisman winners come from losing teams...not to mention the many NFL players who played on losing college teams. Good players should get the recognition they deserve, regardless of the win/loss record. GO AGGIES!
Simple Math | 10:12 a.m. Aug. 27, 2008
There are as many losses as wins in college football...add the records up..IT'S A FACT!!!!

Ever heard of Kevin Curtis?? How about Chris Cooley? Both are GREAT NFL players who played for a "losing" team. USU has had a poor team, but there are 30 or 40 players who play regularly in a game...holding 39 other guys to your personal standard is RIDICULOUS!!!

There are team awards and there are individual awards.

And YES...USU fans are different...WE ACTUALLY CHEER EVEN when our team is down..enjoy your bandwagon!!!
LV Aggie | 10:51 a.m. Aug. 27, 2008
I enjoy reading about Aggies getting so national exposure and the only thing the U or Y can can say is that there should be a win requirement so they don't feel so bad that their players were not included in the Buktus Watch
RE: Min requirement | 11:22 a.m. Aug. 27, 2008
Stats, stats, stats are all that matters when honoring an individual players efforts. Not the teams W-L record.

How do you make sense of your thinking anyway? Because, I'm confused. A great player puts up great numbers no matter how the rest of his team is doing. Why would you withhold an award from a deserving player because of the rest of the team? Sounds like undeserved punishment to me.

WHYSHOWUP | 12:59 p.m. Aug. 27, 2008
WHY WOULD ANYONE DARE TO SHOW THEIR face on USU turf with the killer defense Guy has arranged. Most teams may just forfeit. It's #1 at the BCS.
Thats why | 1:15 p.m. Aug. 27, 2008
Because the game is still played on the field. Thats why Appalachian State went to Michigan last year and won. This article is about individual accomplishments you genius, not about the entire team. Give those two guys some credit, they played hard every play they have played and thats what they are getting recognized for.

Why is any good pub for the Aggies, bad news to everyone outside of Aggie Nation. Really, we are a non-threat to the U and Y, yet their fans insist on belittling us that much more.

I have grown incredibly thick skin being an Aggie fan in this State, yet it appears that we still offend non-Aggies.

Why do you even care???????????

Go Aggies!
True Aggie in Dallas | 7:17 p.m. Aug. 27, 2008
I must say that these non Aggie people just crack me up. It truly does give one thick skin, and a inner strength to go out and compete, not just in sports but in business and life. Thanks BYU and UoU fans for making us stronger. I personally think we are on the right track and will have a great showing this year. It is all about the game, not the overall history of a program. Last year, UL Monroe went into Alabama and beat them...that is our old coach Weatherbie. If they can do it, anyone can. Have you ever seen that little town? I have in person and am proud of the small schools showing up each season to compete. It makes life fun, and gives the "golden spoon" boys something to gripe about, as our programs improve and sometimes spoil their fun. I'll cheer for UoU or BYU as long as they aren't playing USU....True blue forever! Did I mention that I a Grizzly as well?
Seriously | 8:12 p.m. Aug. 27, 2008
No kidding. They steal our quarterback and all we get to hear about for 2 weeks is how thier ice cream kicks the crap out of Aggie ice cream.... Does someone have an inferiority complex or something?
