Liberman and McCain are pro Iraq war, period. Thats why Liberman did what he did.

The Army is in bad need of recruits, I just hope McCain doesn't try to bring back the draft.

I wish journalists will ask all canidates their stand on any future draft and try to get them to sign a pledge not to bring it back.

First of all, I know that the army is not in as bad a need for recruits as you insinuated.

Secondly, I noticed that you hope that McCain doesn't bring back the draft. You didn't mention Obama bringing back the draft. From what I've observed over the past few years, it's been the democrats who have promoted reinstating the draft "so that the evil rich guy's children have to go fight and not just the poor ghetto kid". Since Obama is a lock-step liberal democrat (he has not done one thing that is not in line with the democrat leadership) he would be much more likely to reinstate the draft.

If you really don't want the draft, you'd be better off not voting for Obama, but then you didn't want to hear that, did you? You really wouldn't care if the draft was reinstated if it were Obama who did it.

Since when is it journalists job to try to get a politician to sign a pledge? I thought that journalists were supposed to REPORT the news not push their own agenda. I can see them asking the future draft question, but they should never try to get them to sign an anti-draft pledge. That is just not their job.

At least it used to be that way. Maybe I'm showing my age by believing that journalists should report, not push their agenda. After all, Obama had all the journalists go with him on his ONE trip to Iraq while no one ever went with McCain on his many trips there. Maybe the journalism that I knew is dead.
