Come on you in the media. This investigation was ongoing before Palin became a VP candidate. It was never called "Troopergate" before, now that she's a candidate, do you have to put a the "Gate" suffix(obviously to remind us and make the connection to Watergate) on any investigation involving her?

I thought the "X-gate, Y-gate, Z-gate" type naming was reserved for Presidents and their administrations. Now your going to broaden it to be applied to ANY political story or situation you can write about?

I know all jurnalists are envious of the guys who got to investigate and write about the REAL Watergate scandal, but to link the names in every subsequent political investigation from then on in hopes that you'll get to write about the next Watergate is so immature.

PLEASE, give it a rest.

Trouble, thy name is troopergate. John, you have to dance with the girl you brought to the prom.

This is going to get ugly.

You should have chose Mitt or the senator from Maine, or dozen others. You get what you sowed.

Yeah, to trouble: you nailed it. So true... she is a little gov. in a state of less than 700,000 people, with oil revenues running all over the place, and she has a faith that says God Almight wanted us to go to war in Iraq.

Speechless. It leaves me speechless. Demos are the best deal this time around. No question about it.

Excuse me. The public service director was an "at will" employee. That means she can fire him for cause, for no cause, or because his hair isn't combed to her liking.

If he can prove some sort of discrimination or civil rights matter, he can file a civil suit. Otherwise, its the unemployment line.

Federal prosecutors fired by Bush were also "at will" employees. Clinton fired all the federal employees, including those investigating him; where was the hue and cry at that time?

Thanks for attempting to push your political agenda.

McCain's judgement for a running mate is impaired. This Hail Mary pass will be incomplete.

So this trooper tazers a 10-year old and threatens to put a bullet in Palin's father's head. Somehow the firing of this trooper's superior, for not dismissing him, is considered by some to be an "abuse of power." Firing this man sounds like common sense to me.

You can't have it both ways. If she doesn't fire him, and this trooper shows a subsequent lack of judgment in the line of duty, the Democrats would be the first in line to use this history to question her judgment for not taking action sooner. A little intellectual honesty would be nice once in a while.

Without question, the term "Troopergate" is over-the-top terminology designed for political effect.
