Many of the politicans should be made to account for many things they do. Let the people decide if they are justified. I hope that the public will be allowed to ask questions also and not just a closed forum.

In this time when you can go directly to people without prior screening of media outlets, this is good thinking. If you feel that you are misrepresented by a pathetically poor Bob Bernick, you may as well take your case directly to the public.

Actually we should thank the DesNews for calling them to task on the referendum petition process. It would even be better if the citizen initiative petition process was changed to make it as easy as the referendum petition process. In my opinion they hate it when the citizens actually take charge of their state. What right, in their opinion, do citizens have to make or get rid of laws. There was a lot of arrogance displayed by the legislature in passing the voucher law.

I wonder if K-Talk radio would donate air time to allow citizens an organized forum to represent themselves in setting the record straight about how legislators misrepresent and abuse the citizens of Utah. I think many citizens would welcome the opportunity to set the record straight about how we feel about proposed legislation without having their comments censored, cut off, or otherwise filtered.

You might be able to ask, but they still control the microphone. It won't be a fair shake for accountablity.

This is PERHAPS a good idea, depending on how the show is run & how many people listen to it. If it's just a forum for blowhard pols to vent it won't accomplish anything. Listeners might tune in once, but never again. If, on the other hand, it's handled well, with well-reasoned positions laid out by the officials, it could be a very good thing. Some portion of the show should definitely be dedicated to called in questions, closely & strictly controlled by the host/moderator to limit access & time by kooks & whackos.

I doubt Howard Stephenson would tell the truth if he knew it. Isn't there someway to require them to say things under oath so that when they lie there could be some punishment? He and that idiot senator that carries a gun into the halls of the Legislature should be required to have real jobs.
Are they lawyers, too?

I just continue to laugh at Stephenson's and Hughes' attempts to continue to tell voters how they should think. Why waste my time listening to their hogwash?? I do not want to hear one more of Howard Stephenson's ridiculous explanations of the Education Omnibus bill nor do I want to listen to Representative Hughes explain why vouchers are a good idea. These are two politicians that are out of touch with their constituents. Draper voters please vote against Greg Hughes in November!!!

Those wacky Republican legislators are just so dang misunderstood. They're doing all they can for our own good whether we want them to or not. After all, they know best.
All those who vote Republican but think it's time for these guys to get out are right. Cross that partisan line and try Democrat. However, remember McCain is also a Republican and supports "scool choice" Utah's word is vouchers. Remember Utah voters, you can't have it all. Or maybe it should be, you get who you vote for.
