Congratulations AD, way overdue.

It's "ball hogs" and "no defense" guys like AD that have ruined the NBA. The Hall of Fame should be for only those players who played basketball the way it was intended to be played. Teamwork and tough D. Dantley didn't play any defense and didn't make even one of his teammates a better player. The NBA hall of shame.

I'm the big bro. of Dean and Kevin, the two little blond farm boys that finally made it to Salt Lake to see you, the Golden Griff and the Jazz play live for their first time. They we're so excited and dreamed of the chance to maybe, just maybe get an autograph from you or the Griff. We waited by the tunnel until the team came out to shoot warmups. The 3rd guy out was Darrel Griffith I ask Griff if he could possibly take time to give these two young boys a autograph. He was obviously irritated and pulled a face while waving us off.Dean and little Kevin were so disappointed that tears began to well up in their eyes. Just then you strolled up to the rail and said whats happenen guys. You gave them each your autograph and talked to us like you had all the time in the world until Frank Layden yelled for you get over there and start warming up.He was kind of ornery like Griff was.A.D. Thanks for all the good memories we will never forget them.Congradulations on your long, long over due, induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame.Amen!!!

Good story Way to go. I never understood the snub that Layden and Miller gave AD. Dantley was a great scorer. That was his role. Besides, I think his defense was every bit as good as Boozer's. You don't see Miller and Sloan berating Carlos - although maybe they should.

Do you think Franky Layden, Griff, Thurl, Ricky, Big Mark (THE HUMAN DETOUR), and The Gunslinger (John "AWOL" Drew) would have won the division and made the playoffs for the first time in Jazz history, without Adrian Dantley? Not a chance in HECK! Dantley couldn't have done it without these guys either but he was the leader. A.D. could post up and score on any center in the league and he was about 6'5". He could rebound and pass the ball as well. Nearly 30 pts, 6.5 rebs & 4 assists while shooting over 50% from the field and 85% from the line. The Jazz and the Clippers were the laghing stocks of the NBA. And A.D. gave us some credibility and hope. He helped us to change that. A.D and HOT ROD were the only legitamte faces of the organization at the time that had respect and credibility around the league. Congratulations to the man they called A.D. You gave the Utah Jazz credibility and helped to keep a professional sports team in the state of Utah even though we are a small market. Loved the way he rolled the ball as he lifted his shoulder before foul shots.

Dantley is/was part of what is/ was right with the N B A . I believe you are somehow confusing needed touches( see Dantley's assists, f.g. % stats) with ball hogging. Dantley is a class act heck of a ball playing stud! Even Larry and Frank finally admit it!
