The Governor and state legislators better plan for federal cuts along with the reductions in tax revenue. They better be planning for hard times and cutting state services in welfare and aid for the poor. We are all clasified as poor with the economy as it is and will continue to decline. It is going to be a long term recovery with limited tax base and resources from federal government not as forthcoming as in the past. The people understand hard times but government, state and federal, must get their heads out of the dark tunnel and start realizing this. This is only the beginning and things are going to get worse and anyone who thinks its not is living in a dream world of fantasy. And the state must also be willing to leave the issue of increasing taxes to offset any shortfalls. They have been operating and planning on windfall taxation in the past and the people are at the limits of their ability to keep supporting irresponsible spending by government. Cutting spending and projects are what we need and what our elected government should be planning.

I do not think I would be so angry over all this if those in Washington and the financial institutions being bailed out responsible for all of this being levied on the American tax payer were brought to justice and prosecuted for their mishandling of their responsibilities.
