This is what the Bush administration has been doing for the last 8 years, and this is what a McCain/Palin administration would do for 4 more.

When is the associated press going to look into Obama's association with Chicgo mobsters. Probably best before the election and report it at that time

My "LiL" sweetie pie, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and my next Vice President of the Unites States of America, did not do anything wrong, the drive by news media caused this investigation, they are all liberal's and it was all O-Bamacon politically motivated. Mrs. Sarah Palin says Monegan was fired as part of a legitimate budget dispute, and she don't lie. While at "the unemployment-line" all so sad, Monegan says he was dismissed as retribution for resisting pressure to fire a state trooper involved in a bitter divorce with the governor's sister, and he got mad, because Sarah's more gental than Donnald Trump with his 2 words only, "YOUR FIRED". It's time to really clean up Washington, and everywhere else to in America, and, vote all the liberal's out of every Office everywhere, vote in Sarah and McCain. We'll give them REAL CHANGE alright, and other things they can watch on TMZ. It's time to VOTE OUT all the liberals in every Office in all government everywhere. Put McCain and Sarah in The White House, demand equal time, show the World just what the media hid from us all, about just who, what etc 0-bamacon is. COUNTRY FIRST.

Hey AP what are you doing about looking into this and reporting the facts?
Barack Obama's newly appointed Muslim outreach adviser is coming under fire for meeting with Islamic groups with extremist views, just two months after her predecessor resigned over links to a radical cleric.

The question | 7:41 p.m. Oct. 10, 2008
we should really be asking, is what did Barak Obama have to do with this?
Do we REALLY know that Obama wasn't really at fault in this whole abuse of power scandal?
Do we REALLY know that he didn't go up to Alaska and cause this whole shenanigans?
Do we REALLY know that Obama didn't go over to Russia while he was in Alaska and talk with the Communist Russians. Do we REALLY know Obama isn't plotting to blow up the White House?
I mean...
Who IS Barak Obama?

It's funny to conservatives reacting to this the way they usually react to bad news: sticking their fingers in their ears and going, "LA-LA-LA! EVIL LIBERAL OBAMA! LA-LA-LA-LA-LA!"

There's nothing illegal or surprising here. Gov. Palin rightfully used her power to dismiss a state employee who was not serving the people.
Of course her corrupt legislature is trying to smear her...she became governor *because* she tried to clean things up and help her people.
This tradition of accusing politicians of crimes goes back to Clinton. The big difference is that it was proved that Clinton committed impeachable federal crimes. Bush didn't, Cheney didn't, Rumsfeld didn't, Rove didn't, and now Palin didn't...but the new tradition is to pretend that it's illegal to disagree with one political side or another.

Was just waiting for "It's Clinton's fault" mantra to start. You guys are a work of art.

You guys are unbelievable.
A BIPARTISAN Alaskan legislative committee UNANIMOUSLY approved the report. Get it? It had nothing to do with Obama.
The "barracuda" is revealing herself to be a smelly, dead fish.
The facts are clear-cut.
Read any bio of Palin's tenure either as the Mayor of Wasilla or as Alaska's Governor. Her history of blending her personal matters with public functions was well-documented prior to this news. It is entirely in keeping with her personality that she would use her public office to settle personal scores and then attempt to lie about it when caught. It's completely her M.O.
Rather than dealing with this news honestly, however, the right-wingers here are jamming their fingers in their ears, squeezing their eyes shut and screaming nonsense about Obama being a Muslim and/or a terrorist, even though independent fact-checking has placed those allegations in the much-deserved Karl Rove Slime Machine bin.
Please folks, take a slow, deep, reflective breath and re-assess your infatuation with Palin. It's not supported by the facts.

Wow ... I am shocked | 9:03 p.m. Oct. 10, 2008
Somehow a month before the election Palin is found guilty of dismissing a public employee. The investigation probably would barely be going-- if at all. Again, what did she do wrong?
I love how the AP overlooks plenty of stories concerning Obama and Biden were controversy is involved. Typical AP reporting...if is a Republican, it is the most scandalous thing ever--even if is only nothing more than a hangnail. But if it is a Democrat...oh nothing of importance to report here--even if a crime is involved.

hold on. | 9:09 p.m. Oct. 10, 2008
It was a bi-partisan inquiry of 12. There were only 4 Democrats on the committee. hmmmmm

To "The Question":
You're really putting on the tinfoil hat here.
This investigative committee, which is bipartisan and has a Republican majority, was convened clear back in July. Obama's guys didn't even have an oppo file for Palin back then!
Moreover, back when the committee convened, Palin agreed to cooperate with it completely. Only after she became the VP candidate did she decide to stonewall.
It's McCain that has an army of lawyers in Alaska, not Obama.
Gary S.:
You say "There is nothing illegal or surprising here." Well, you're 1 for 2. Surprising, no. Illegal yes. The conclusion of the bipartisan board was that Palin illegally abused her power.
But never mind that. Spin away, Republicans. All it does is continue to erode the notion that you're the party of accountability.

Those who talk the most about morality, speak of what they are lacking.

Well, I guess McCain should have just asked Miss Piggy to be VP. She's just as controlling from all the Muppet Shows I have watched.
The perfect storm | 10:39 p.m. Oct. 10, 2008
Senator McCain listened to Hannity and now in in the perfect storm of Hypocrisy. Hannity should be taken off KSL. I admire McCain today for standing up to the people today at the rallys.

You would have to have your head in the sand to believe that Palin is fit for office.
The Real Observer | 10:44 p.m. Oct. 10, 2008
Observer is defined: "Through consideration of noted facts". Yo, OBSERVER....Reading the Dem's talking points does not make you an 'OBSERVER'. You need to call yourself "SHEEP HERDER".
Ms. Palin is being butchered by people in a herd who can't "OBSERVE". If they could they would see this bogus investigation for what it truly is....Politics as usual. The day after the November election this matter will never be discussed again.

Palin Abused Power: and it's all Obama's Fault
according to the readers on this post. Honestly, this happened before Obama even knew she existed. And let's see, 8 of the 12 on the committee were Republicans. Oh, yeah, Republicans don't like her...it's quite a quandry the McCain camp has going here. Then there's the fact that she encouraged the investigation...until she decided the Democrats and Obamaites, err, the Republicans, hmmm, I mean the legislature of Alaska was out to get her.

The first sentence of the article is entirely misleading because the report found she was lawful in the firing. When are reporters going to actually do their job and read the entire findings before writing the headline.

So she abused her power, big deal, at least she has a deep understanding of Supreme Court jurisprudence and foreign affairs.
Frustrated Citizen | 11:35 p.m. Oct. 10, 2008
So Palin abused her power, and Obama has appointed a radical Muslim outreach advisor who has met with Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. Not to mention McCain's lack of speaking out against the nationalization of our banks. It's so hard to not feel cynical! Maybe I'll just take a nap for the next month and a half. You can wake me when the election is over.

You didn't expect the Rove designed republican hate machine to start rolling just before the election? You should be frustrated. You listen to them about Bush. Is what they said correct? Did they lie to you?
They must create a fog of lies to cover Palin.

A legislative investigation has concluded that Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power in pushing for the firing of an Alaska state trooper who was once married to her sister, or by failing to prevent her husband Todd from doing so.
The report by investigator Steve Branchflower was made public by a bipartisan 12-0 vote of the Legislative Council, which authorized the investigation.
Page 8 of Branchflower Report to the [Alaska] Legislative Council, October 10, 2008, Volume One -Public Report
II Findings; Finding Number One
For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act.
Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) provides
"The legislature reaffirms that each public office holds a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust."
Finding Number Four
The Attorney General's office has failed to substantially comply with my August 6, 2008 written request to Governor Sarah Palin for information about the case in the form of emails.
The reports, stories and audios can be found at the
Anchorage Daily News.
